Mission

We aim to create a highly interactive and engaging environment that allows participants to break down the barriers of their physical world and build deeper connections through sound and communication. We hope to foster a sense of kinship and intimacy between strangers and facilitate connections between people who may not otherwise interact. Finally, we aspire to leave a lasting impact of receptivity and empathy formed through open communication, to bring back into the default world.

Philosophy

Through the creation of Entangled, we hope to bring participants back to a state of childlike openness, where making new friends on the playground was as simple as walking up to someone and introducing yourself. As children, we notice each other's differences, but the prejudices and social constructs that come with those identities have not yet formed. As we age, we accumulate a catalog of visual information shaped by our culture and experience. When we meet new people this often makes us assume things about a stranger’s identity before even speaking to them. Entangled’s design serves to break down these visual barriers, forcing participants to focus on sound, and what is being said. The egg-shaped pods create an enclosed womb-like environment, nurturing a feeling of safety and openness for those inside, while they develop rapport with each other. Like its title, referring to quantum entanglement, we hope participants will have lasting effects on each other across space and time.
